I’m a make-up whizz and women over 35 always make the same mistake that massively ages them – please stop doing it
A MAKE-UP whizz has shared the big mistake that many people make, that instantly makes them look older.
Beauty fan Shira, known on TikTok as @simply.shira, recently took to the video sharing platform to share the make-up look that women over 35-years-old should avoid.

According to this make-up fan, using black eyeliner on your lower eyelash line is hugely ageing.
Shira, who has amassed 68.5k followers on the social media app, shared her anti-ageing tip and said: “Make-up mistakes to avoid if you’re over 35.”
She explained: “Lining your lower lash line with a dark black pencil liner definitely had its moment in the 90s.”
But according to Shira, if you are over 35-years-old, it’s time to “retire” the black eyeliner pencil from underneath your eyes.
She advised: “Instead, smudge a medium brown eyeshadow along your lower lash line, stopping halfway, for a fresher and more youthful look.”
She then added: “This is a fresher, more youthful way to line your lower lash line.”
In the clip, Shira lined one of her eyes with a black eyeliner pencil.
She then took a brush, with some brown eyeshadow on it and smudged it along her eyelash line.
You can instantly see a huge difference between both looks and we agree, the eyeshadow look is much softer and fresher.
Shira’s video has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 443.6k views.
It has 12.2k likes, 106 comments and 144 shares.
But TikTok users were left divided at Shira’s tip – while some agreed, others couldn’t bear the thought of parting with their black eyeliner.
One person said: “I’m so glad I found this! I’m just starting to wear makeup again at 36 and I wasn’t sure where to start.”
Another added: “I agree, I think the lower lash line eyeliner ages people.”
A third commented: “Omg I keep telling my mom this. And she won’t even listen to me and I’m bridal makeup artist!!!!! 😂”
However, not everyone was as keen on Shira’s tip.
One user noted: “You can take my black eyeliner when I’m dead.”
A second chimed in: “I’m keeping my 90s liner!!! Emo for life!”
Whilst someone else posted: “I will never stop doing the bottom black liner. I’m over 40.”
Another user claimed: “This hurt my feelings. I’m 34.25 and I’m too young to think about this. 😞”
Meanwhile, one person commented: “Ladies there are no mistakes.
